This suit was brought by appellee as administratrix to recover damages for the death of her husband, George E. Hoadley, alleged to have been caused by the negligence of appellant. Plaintiff below recovered a verdict and judgment for $4,000, from which the defendant has appealed. Deceased was a lamp trimmer in the employment of an electric light company, and on January 4, 1902, while at work on a lamp in Maple street, in the city of Joliet, at a place where it is crossed by several tracks of appellant, he was struck by a moving engine on appellant’s railroad and so seriously injured that he…
