I. Facts and Procedural History

Louanne Larson was convicted of capital murder in 1993, and the jury assessed a life sentence. Her conviction was affirmed on direct appeal. Larson v. State, 890 S.W.2d 200 (Tex.App.-Texarkana 1994, pet. ref d). Larson originally filed a post-conviction motion for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing in 2002 under Article 64.03 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
