Introduction
This case is now before the court on plaintiffs May 26, 1992 application for attorney fees in the amount of $22,831.00 under the Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA), 28 U.S.C. § 2412 (1991 ed.), and defendant’s opposition thereto. Previously, in June 1991, following an appeal to this Court on May 6, 1988, from an adverse contracting officer’s decision on May 8, 1987, the defendant admitted liability, in part, for certain of plaintiff’s claims and thereby paid the plaintiff $4,400, plus interest.
