John Henry Wade was charged by four separate indictments with conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit kidnapping in the first degree, and conspiracy to commit extortion in the first degree. The cases were consolidated for trial and a jury convicted him of all four charges. Wade was sentenced as a habitual offender to four consecutive terms of imprisonment for life, was fined $5,000 for each conviction, and was ordered to pay court costs and $1,000 to the Victim's Compensation Fund in each case.
