McKEOWN, Circuit Judge:
This case requires us to decide whether there was reasonable suspicion for a traffic stop under Terry v. Ohio, 392 U.S. 1, 88 S.Ct. 1868, 20 L.Ed.2d 889 (1968), where the officer misapprehended the traffic law that was the basis for the stop. In view of our recent decisions in United States v. Rojas-Millan, 234 F.3d 464 (9th Cir.2000), and United States v. Twilley, 222 F.3d 1092 (9th Cir.2000), we conclude that the officer’s mistake of law regarding the applicable traffic ordinance precludes a finding of reasonable suspicion.
