NICHOLLS, J.

This is a suit for damages for personal injuries sustained by the plaintiff to the amount of $5,000. He alleges: That on the 15th of November, 1904, he was working with a gang of screwmen stowing cotton in the hold of the steamship Chancellor, lying at Chalmette, in the parish of St. Bernard.
