LAWSON, District Judge.

The petitioner, Walter Rydale Williams, is presently confined at the Chippewa Correctional Facility in Kincheloe, Michigan. He has filed, through counsel, a petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254 in which he challenges his conviction and sentence for second-degree murder contrary to Mich. Comp.
