BEAM, Circuit Judge.
Frank O. Mapes appeals the district court’s 1 order affirming the Social Security Commissioner’s denial of Ms application for disability insurance benefits. We affirm.
1. BACKGROUND
Mapes applied for disability insurance benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. § 401 et. seq., on October 23, 1991. He alleged a disability onset date of January 1, 1986.
