OPINION
Justice NEWMAN.
In this case, we determine whether an assignee has standing to sue an insurer where the insured assigned its interest in an insurance policy without the prior consent of the insurer, contrary to the requirement in the policy. For the reasons that follow, we affirm the Order of the Superior Court that *289affirmed the Order of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County (trial court), which granted summary judgment in favor of the assignee.
