Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the County Court, Dutchess County (Hillery, J.), rendered July 2, 1986, convicting him of murder in the second degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is aifirmed.

The defendant was charged with the brutal murder of a female acquaintance during the early morning hours of March 8, 1979. The two had met in a bar earlier in the night and returned to the victim’s apartment, where they engaged in consensual sexual relations. Thereafter, the defendant struck the victim on the head repeatedly with a heavy glass bottle…
