This is a writ of error to a judgment of the circuit court sentencing the defendant, Frances Mealy, to the penitentiary for a term of six years, for the murder of her husband, Ocie Mealy.
For some years prior to the homicide there had been frequent and serious disagreements between the defendant and her husband. She had left him a number of times, because, as she alleged, he had abused and beaten her, and she had twice brought suit against bim for divorce, first in 1909 charging cruelty, and again in 1915 charging cruelty, and also charging improper…
