The dispositive issue in this appeal1 is whether the trial court, in deciding this petition for a new trial on the basis of newly discovered evidence, properly engaged in a credibility assessment of the proffered newly discovered evidence in order to determine whether it was likely to produce a different result in the event of a new trial.
