1Opinion of the Court

JAMBS, Chief Justice.

The petition of Bartell was to recover on a note, expressing a vendor’s lien on land, and to foreclose the lien.

The answers consisted of a general denial and special matters summarized in appellantsi’ brief as follows: They denied that the note was for purchase money of the land, denied that the land was liable for the payment of the note, claimed homestead on the land, and that the land had descended to them freed from any and all debts for which it was given. We shall add to this statement of what the answer set up, in order to present the issues more clearly.
