The principal issue in these consolidated appeals1 is whether a property tax exemption provided *224by General Statutes (Rev. to 1997) § 12-81 (72)2 properly *225was denied to a corporate taxpayer purchasing machinery and equipment based upon a determination that the transfer of that property had been between “a business organization related to or affiliated with the seller,” thus making the property ineligible for the exemption.
