The defendant appeals from a judgment rendered against him as garnishee of the Progressive Benefit Order. The facts, succinctly stated, are as follows: The Progressive Benefit Order is a foreign corporation, and one of its objects and charter powers is to establish a benefit and reserve fund *465from which those, who have held a certificate of membership in it for one year, may receive an amount of $100. By the general laws of the order, this $100 is payable to all who pay assessments at the rate of $2, when called for. Subordinate lodges are established, and it is provided that, whenever an…
