In this case, the court must determine whether a regional theatre company from West Virginia, by conducting auditions in New York that directly led to a contract between the company and a New York-based actress, subjected itself to New York’s long-arm jurisdiction for an action arising out of the contract. For the reasons that follow, I conclude that defendant Theatre Arts of West Virginia’s acts in New York constitute the minimum contacts necessary to permit this court to exercise its long-arm jurisdiction.
