MERRILL, Justice.

This is an appeal from an order by the Circuit Court of Mobile County issuing a *691peremptory writ of mandamus to compel the appellant, as Director of the Personnel Board of Mobile County, to “ * * * forthwith enter the name of Donald R. Johnson on the appropriate employment register in the proper position of deputy sheriff of Mobile County, Alabama, and police patrolman of the City of Prichard, Alabama.”
