Plaintiffs appeal from a judgment of nonsuit entered by the San Francisco Superior Court at the close of plaintiffs’ case in a wrongful death action. Plaintiffs’ decedent, Calvin Mark, was electrocuted while attempting to remove or unscrew a light bulb from a street lamp located *174outside his apartment bedroom window. Plaintiffs sued, under various theories of liability, Calvin’s landlord (Mr. and Mrs. Chase), the City and County of San Francisco (“City”), and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (“PG&E”).
