MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER
This is an action for specific performance on an alleged contract to sell land, which requires the court to determine the applicability of the Virgin Islands statute of frauds. 28 V.I.C. §§ 241-246.1
*23Sometime in 1964 the plaintiff Leslie Downing entered into a contract with the defendant Fortuna Bay Estates, Inc. to purchase two lots, Parcel Nos. 4-4-4 and 4-4-6, Estate Fortuna, No. 8 West End Quarter, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
