We're excited to announce our first Asia office in Singapore, focused on core engineering for our retrieval stack.
Exa is building the search engine for the age of AI and we can't do it from one city. Singapore puts us at the heart of the world's fastest-growing digital markets. It is home to major engineering offices from Google, Meta, Stripe, Bytedance, and a rapidly growing ecosystem of AI startups. World-class universities like NUS and NTU have exceptional engineering talent and we're excited about the research coming out of these institutions.
For our customers across Asia-Pacific, our Singapore office means a team in their timezone. For engineers, it means the opportunity to work on frontier problems in search with the comfort of chicken rice and a cup of kopi-c around the corner.
We're especially excited about Singapore's strong support for AI, from its forward-looking policies to its commitment to helping companies grow here. We're grateful to the Economic Development Board for their support in advancing Singapore's AI ecosystem and include their official statement on our launch:
We congratulate Exa on the opening of its first Asia Pacific office in Singapore, a testament to its confidence in Singapore's position as a leading innovation and AI hub in the region. The new setup is a welcome addition to Singapore's thriving AI ecosystem, and we look forward to Exa's collaborations with local partners.

Exa's new Singapore office in a modernised heritage building.
The Singapore office will be focused on core engineering for the systems that power Exa's search: our massive-scale embedding and indexing pipeline, our high-performant vector database in Rust, and our H200s infrastructure designed for global-scale throughput.

The Exa-cluster.
Exa also has offices in San Francisco and Zurich. With the launch of our Singapore office, as our CEO Will Bryk says, "The sun never sets on Exa."
If this sounds interesting to you, we are hiring engineers across product, backend, and infrastructure – feel free to reach out!
