From Emptiness to Existence:Seng-rui's Modified Attitude to Prajnaparamita and Lotus Sutra

For the great esteem he expressed for Lotus Sutra and aversion to Prajnaparamita Sutra,Seng-rui was known as one of the representative philosophers in the transition of Chinese Buddhist philosophy from Emptiness(k'ung,sun-yata) to Existence(yu,being),which accompanied with a gradual transition of his altitude during Seng-rui's academic life.With his new concept Saddharma-pundarlka for foundation,Prajna for practical application,Seng-rui espoused of the concept of existence.Seng-jui's transition in attitude toward the two Sutras facilitated the emergence of thoughts of Prajna and Nirvana during early fifth century in China.
