Study on crease recovery behavior of wool/polyester fabrics using viscoelasticity theory

Jan 1, 2006 · 1 author · 2 topics

Abstract

On the base of viscoelastic theory of textile material,a method is presented to predict wrinkle recovery of woven wool fabrics with different polyester proportions under the standard testing conditions. The fabrics are considered as viscoelastic sheets with internal constraints, which consisted of the three-element model in parallel with a sliding element. The regression equation of wrinkle recovery angle of the fabric is deduced and calculated for wool and wool/polyester blended fabrics. The comparison of the experimental results and theoretical regression equations indicate that the agreement between them is quite satisfactory.
