Abstract
Akmal Vadly : The Role of Habib Abdullah Bin Alwi Al Haddad (1634-1712 AD) in the Transformation of the 'Alawiyah Order. The 'Alawiyah congregation is one of the many muktabarah congregations in the world. However, this congregation can be said to be a moderate congregation because it has several differences between other congregations. Among these differences can be seen how it is not mandatory for people who follow this teaching to follow the Bai'ah but are still recognized as followers of this tarekat. Not only that, this congregation has also gone through a transformation process carried out by Habib Abdullah bin Alwi al-Haddad, namely a person who has a lineage back to the Prophet Muhammad. He introduced this congregation as one of the congregations with all its conveniences. He lived around 1634-1712 AD and was buried in the city of Tarim. Among his works are Nashaih ad-Diniyah, Treatise on adab suluk al-Murid, Wird al-Kabir etc. His services to this order were so great that he was nicknamed the mujaddid of the 'Alawiyah order. The aim of this research is to reveal the essence contained in the teachings of the 'Alawiyah order and the reasons why Habib Abdullah Bin Ali Al Haddad carried out the transformation of this order. The method used in this research is a qualitative method or library research by studying and analyzing literature related to the 'Alawiyah congregation. Among the sources used as references for this research are books by Habib Zain bin Smith and several books by Habib Abdullah bin Alwi al-Haddad, as well as Habib's novel Bin Muhammad Alaydrus. From the results found in this research, it is revealed that the Alawiyah congregation. What was initiated by Habib Abdullah bin Alwi al-Haddad has several changes, including that this tarekat is an easy or light tarekat so anyone can join it, not only those from among the saadah, then in this tarekat it also does not require bai'ah, After that, Habib Abdullah bin Alwi al-Haddad avoided philosophical Sufism thoughts so that this tarekat would not be misunderstood by ordinary people in carrying it out. Shalawat serta salam senantiasa tercurahkan kepada Nabi Muhammad Saw serta keluarga beliau, para sahabat, keturunan beserta para pengikut beliau hingga akhir zaman. Semoga dengan selalu kita bershalawat kepada beliau kita memperoleh syafaat dari Nabi di akhirat kelak, Amiin ya rabbal`alamin. Dalam penulisan skripsi ini, kami sebagai penulis menyadari bahwa banyak kekurangan dan jauh dari kata sempurna, jika terdapat kebenaran dalam skripsi ini maka kebenaran itu datangnya dari Allah SWT. Tetapi, jika di dalam skripsi ini terdapat kesalahan, maka datangnya dari diri penulis sendiri. Penulis mengharapkan kritikan dan saran dari semua pihak yang bersifat membangun, sehingga diharapakan dapat membawa perkembangan di masa yang akan datang.
