Life and Works of Yu Que,a Tanghut Man

Abstract

It was said that Yu Que who took the post of Left Cheng of Huainan province,was one of the most famous among the Tanghut people in the Yuan Dynasty.Based on the collected historic materials,this paper provided a lively detailed story with those relative studies on his life,career and works.It should be pointed out that after his death,a continuous flow of scholars and officials paid condolences and even the new emperor offered him in the name list of Sacrifice in Spring and Autumn.It can be seen that a great cultural change among the western immigrants in the Yuan Dynasty from Yu Que's outstanding achievements in study of Confucian classics,literature,calligraphy.
