Abstract

The battle of Xiao happened between Qin and Jin in the epoch of Chunqiu.Although it was not an influential one,there are detailed descriptions in Annals of Zuo.Many scholars took it as one of the five great battles in Annals of Zuo.However,it is claimed that it should not taken as one from many aspects.The battle between Wu and Chu at the later period of the Spring and Autumn period is more qualified as one of the five battles.
