Abstract

This article speaks about the history of education and more precisely, in the history of the training of the teachers. It presents a little known teacher: Félix Neff, educational figure of the beginning of the XIXth century of the Alps briançonnaise. Founder of "the teachers' training college of the snow ", he leaves an educational heritage unpublished in the middle of a valley, today still, little accessible. Félix Neff, conscript l' Oberlin of the Alps, joins in the filiation of the minister of the Ban de la Roche, being exactly situated in the base of the story of the teacher education of France. He will be the craftsman and the precursor of an institution which will become major in the republican educational system. By working on a collections of local archives unpublished, Félix Neff appears here as an underestimated but however remarkable educational figure, in particular when we know that Guizot knew the work of education of Neff.
