By now you will have received your first copy of PACIFIC HORTICULTURE magazine. Look forward to two more quarterly issues this year in July and October.Due to our financial committment to the University of Washington over the next several years, we found it necessary to discontinue the publication of our journal, HORTICULTURE NORTHWEST. NOHS will be forever grateful to Sallie Allen for her excellence and dedication in editing our journal for so many years.There will be many interesting events in the future for our members and friends. Be sure to attend the upcoming garden tours in May and June. Our annual FERN FESTIVAL will be held in June and is described below by Sue Olsen.I look forward to greeting you at our annual meeting at 10:00 A.M. on June 2nd at CUH. For the third of the lecture series at 10:30 A.M.,we are fortunate to have Dr. Richard Howard, a very popular lecturer from the Arnold Arboretum. Afterwards, please join us for light refreshments. It will be a good time to make your acquaintences with your fellow NOHS members.And, of course, it's not too soon to be thinking about our Plant Sale in October. When you are moving, dividing or propagating your plants, put some aside for the sale. Your donations are tax deductible and 100% profit for NOHS. Don't forget, if you are interested in helping with any of our projects, please let us know. We can always use good help!
