What if the thing you're listening to right now never got interrupted? What if it could play uninterrupted from room to room on Sonos? What if you start with two Sonos speakers just to see how it feels? What if you really like how it feels, and you become a Sonos person who can't stop saying to their friends, "What if you start with two Sonos speakers just to see how it feels?" Well, there's an event that's gonna go on for a great guy, and it's called Karaoke for Kirby. Joe- Joe, uh, Kirby, he's fighting stage four metastatic melanoma, and on Sunday, November 8th, 1:00 to 6:00 at Montage Mountain, they're gonna have an event. And, uh, it's all for him and to help him out. And here is his son, who coincidentally, uh, plans events at Montage. I brag about you guys every day, Drew Kirby, so that's a good thing. Uh, but welcome to The Bob Codaro Show.
Hey, Bob. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it.
Tell us about this event for your dad. Uh, I, I think it's great.
Yeah, I mean, most people have met my father somewhere. Um, you've seen him around, maybe driving a, driving a bus for Colts.
Yeah.
Um, he might have DJ'd at a wedding or an event.
I knew I knew him.
You know?
I knew I did.
That-
Yes.
Yeah, that, that's where he's most known for, I would say, for being, you know, a goofy, silly guy as a DJ. Uh, you might have seen him at your local bar singing karaoke.
[laughs]
[laughs] Um, but you know, he's the type of guy that's always smiling, he's always laughing. Um, and he's... You know, frankly, he's not just looking to have a great time for himself, he's trying to infect that around the people that he's with, even if he doesn't even know you.
Yeah.
You know? Um, but you know, nearly two months ago, um, we got news my father was diagnosed with stage four metastatic melanoma. Um, it was quite a shock. It came out of nowhere. Had just, you know, had some back pain, decided to get it checked out. Um, just so happened to get that kind of news, which is unfortunate, but it's a good thing we caught it, of course. Um, but that's led him to be out of work, of course, while he focuses on his treatments-
Yeah
... and recovery. Um, so that's why it's been a no-brainer for, for me, and a lot of great people that he works with and knows around the community to get together and do this fundraiser, uh, Karaoke for Kirby.
Well, this is great, and I know you got a great committee. My buddy Art Ware brought this to my attention. Uh, so, uh, the event a- appropriately is karaoke for your dad, Joe Kirby. Sunday, November 8th, 1:00 to 6:00 up at Montage Mountain. I'll tell you what, that's gonna be a lot of fun. It's only 20 bucks too.
Yeah. It's a great deal, and it's gonna be a great time. You know, we're gonna
