There are nine mistakes that gyms are making with their ads that's costing them tens of thousands of dollars, if not more, when you consider over time. And today I'm going to share with you what they are, why they're hurting your ad results and how to get it right. And none of this is based on opinion. This is based on tests across many campaigns, along with not only we see in our gyms, but what other top advertisers are saying when it comes to what works today compared to the old way that unfortunately many people still do. Now, paid ads can be great. You get it right, good things happen. You don't get it right, not so good things happen, right? Getting it wrong, you're going to have to be great at other stuff, events, referrals, strategic partnership, organic content, everything else, right? If you get it wrong, you're also going to go from agency to agency to agency with failed attempts. It's stressful having to start all over every time, not fun. Also, you're going to plateau or worse. A lot of businesses go out of business because of their inability to get enough customers. Now, if you get it right, well, a lot of good things happen. You get a lot more leads with very little work. Not that you're opposed to work, but it allows you to open yourself up to work on other things because this thing is taken care of a lot easier. It puts a lot less pressure on stuff like guerrilla marketing, which is what we talked about earlier, the partnerships, the referrals, the promos and events, all that stuff. And to get it right, of course, your business grows in the way that you have always wanted and dreamed when you first opened your business. Now, if you're at all skeptical about ads and how powerful they can be when done right, I encourage you to click the link in the description to watch a conversation I recently had with Lindsay. She owns a studio in Texas and Out of over 650 locations in her franchise, she consistently ranks top five every year when it comes to revenue and lead gen. But what you'll learn in that conversation is she works very differently with her agencies, and I'm going to be diving deeper on those things right now. And also, if you want to go really deep on this topic so you can truly get real results from paid ads and make life a lot easier for your gym, we are having a workshop on July 7th called Fire Your Agency, and you can find the link in the description for that below as well. All right, now let's dive into the nine mistakes that gyms are making with their ads, why they're wrong, and how to fix it. Mistake number one. You hire them for the wrong job. Now, what do I mean by that? Well, agencies could be useful. For some of my gyms, I use them. For some of my gyms, I don't. But the reason a lot of people get it wrong is because you hire them for too much. You got to remember that top ad agencies... They've got really brilliant people working for them and they'll charge a retainer every month with like a one to three year contract of $100,000 a month or much more. Those are top agencies. Now the agencies that work with gyms because gyms don't have a budget, so they have to remain within a price tag that matches the avatar.

Your ads aren't failing because of your audience.
They're failing because of nine fixable mistakes most gym owners don't even know they're making.
And the agencies running those ads may not be telling you.

You are probably paying your agency to do things that should never be their job. Strategy. Budget. Offer. Reporting. At $800 to $1,500 a month, they're a vendor built for execution, not decisions. The gyms spending the same money on ads but getting far better results have figured out where the line is.

Mike sold his own ad agency two years ago after working with over 4,000 gyms worldwide. What he saw from the inside is exactly what most gym owners are still getting wrong on the outside.

In this episode you'll learn:
- Why hiring your agency for strategy, offer, and budget decisions is the first mistake that costs you the most
- What "target ignorant" means and how to set a customer acquisition cost target that's actually tied to your numbers
- How to track per-ad performance across leads, booked appointments, shows, and closed sales instead of total campaign results
- Why the ad with the most leads is often not the ad you should be scaling
- How to structure pre-meeting agendas and post-meeting
