1 turns · 15 minYou know, it kind of sucks when you get leads and then you don't close them, but you know you didn't close them. But what really sucks is when you don't close the leads, you never knew could have been in your funnel and didn't get in your funnel because you messed up somewhere in the steps that we're gonna talk about today. Meaning you didn't even know you had a chance because they never opted in the first place. And there are reasons why. And by the way, we're doing this episode today in Aruba. I'm here on vacation with the family and they're showering. And I figured this is a great spot, great time for me to go ahead and shoot an episode while I'm here. So let's have fun. So right now, more than 82% of people, when they first see your company, which they could see your company on Google, they could see your company in Instagram, they could see your company while they're driving by, maybe even an ad that you have running. But what the data says is that when somebody sees a company that has a solution for a problem that they have, right now, 82% of people are actually first doing two to three points of research before they actually call the company. So here's what that means. You have an ad. You spend money on that ad. You get excited because it gets in front of the right people. Jim sees your ad and goes, who are these guys? Swipes out of Facebook or Instagram, wherever he saw your ad. And then he's going to look at three different places. So here are the places that are good for you to know. And working on this today, because once you understand these specific spots, you're gonna realize if I don't optimize these areas, I'm gonna lose leads that I never even knew I had a chance at, okay? So area number one, and this is the clear obvious one, because you probably go to it right away. is Google meaning Jim sees your ad and goes, who are these guys? Swipes out, swipes over to Google and then starts looking at your reviews. So we're going to talk about what needs to happen here in order to increase your odds. By the way, this is all taken from a set of, I don't know, hundreds of gyms that we've worked with and been able to see who does really great in and what the common patterns are. The next one is going to be Instagram. And then the last one is your website. So when we talk about these three things, what are the things that we really wanna make sure that we have in place in order to take advantage of these areas that people are gonna visit before moving forward with your company? So first thing that we have to make sure that we've got is reviews. And there's a few things that are important to know before you just like, go, okay, well, I got reviews, we're good on this. Well, number one, you need to get one to two per week. What we've noticed is the gyms that are getting like one to two per week, they actually are getting the most at-bats. When it comes to a product-based business, such as pair of shoes or this notepad, something like that, research shows that the average consumer actually sorts the reviews by bad reviews, like one star, and sees what people are really complaining about. But when it comes to services, very different. So

You're spending money on ads. The targeting is right. The creative is solid.
And the leads still aren't coming in the way they should.
It's not the ad. It's what happens after someone sees it.
82% of people who see your gym's ad don't call. They go do homework first. They check your Google reviews, your Instagram, your website. And if what they find doesn't give them enough certainty to move forward, they're gone. You never knew they existed. You never had a chance to close them.
Mike Arce filmed this one from Aruba, and it might be the most overlooked lead generation conversation in the gym industry. Not one thing in this episode requires more ad spend.
In this episode you'll learn:
— Why 82% of prospects research your gym before ever contacting you and the three places they go
— What gym leads actually sort by on Google reviews (it's not what product-based businesses see)
— Why you need one to two new Google reviews every week and how to build a system for it
— How to upload case study videos directly to Google and why most gyms never do it
— The exact three things your Instagram bio needs to have before you run another ad
