Don't try and link your self-esteem and self-worth to trying to be an A-grade student. Link your self-esteem and self-worth to try and be an A-grade person. He would say that to me all the time. So being an entrepreneur or being someone successful in your career, same concept. Don't spend all your time trying to just be excellent at what you do. Make sure you're trying to be amazing at who you are. And that should be the prerequisite of being excellent. And I think about some of these sayings that is like... Don't aim to be a remarkable person. Aim to be a reliable one. I always speak about this on stage because I think it's probably the most important thing I've ever learned. You can be really good at what you do and still really bad at who you are. I was really good at football and still really shit at who I was. And you can do that in your whole career. I didn't wake up every single day thinking about other people's suffering and want to try and take that away. To me, that just drives me now, man. I hate seeing people suffer. I hate seeing people sad. I hate seeing people going through a tough time because I just know how sad and lonely that feels for you. So that's what drives me now. I didn't have that when I was young. So I don't think if he didn't die, I'd be even closer to half the man I am today.
Welcome to the One True Measure podcast. I'm your host, Blake O'Connell. Each week we talk about success, not only success, but this concept of an internal and individual journey towards defining success. And this gentleman that we've got on today is a great example of that. I get the opportunity to be able to talk to some amazing people. We're going to talk to Jules today about really probably like his life journey, how he's processed trauma, how he's become the happiness guy, and then this awesome vision and awesome mission of being able to positively impact 10 million lives over the next 10 years. So welcome, Julian Pace. How are you, mate? Thanks for having me, mate.
I appreciate being here. We're caffeinated. We are. Great morning chat.
Yes. Should we plug Sonder Coffee? Yeah, we should. Thanks, Brodie. Killed it. Absolutely. That was good. I'm going back after this. I've got some more work to do.
Good coffee, good people, though. That is
true. Double whammy. Hey, everyone gets an introduction, all right? So this is the part where you cringe and you think, man, I'm going to talk about you, but it's important we spoke about this before. So we'll give you a bit of an introduction.
