That's right. That's
too high of a cost to pay.
Welcome to the Sales Made Simple podcast. This podcast is dedicated to helping overwhelmed outdoor living professionals, landscapers, and hardscapers just like you increase your closing rate to over 75% without doubling your workload so you can build a seven-figure business that doesn't need you. I'm your host, Joshua Gillow. Let's dig in. Hey everybody, welcome back to the show. This week, I have the man, the myth, the legend, Weston Zimmerman. And if you guys, I swear you have to be living under a rock not to see what this man's doing out there in the world of hardscaping and landscaping and the incredible contribution that he's doing for all of us. You know, it's incredible what he's built so far. And you know, usually when I'm on the podcast, we're talking about knowing your numbers and we're talking about what he's up to, that kind of thing. Today, we're going to pull the mask back. I've asked Weston to come on to the podcast here and ask him some deeper questions that aren't so much synced up focused and know your numbers focused, but more about Weston the man. So, Weston, welcome to the
show. Thanks, Josh. Man, now you're making me feel nervous. I'm never nervous. But now, like, man, we're going to we're going to I'm here for it. Let's lean in. Let's have the
conversation. I can see the sweat beating up in your forehead. So I appreciate it, man. You know, I'm going to jump right into it here. You know, I've seen, I mean, you are everywhere. You can't open up a social media, at least I can't open up a social media platform and not see you talking to someone somewhere at some event. I mean, you are just rocking, man. There's times I'm like, how does he do it all? And my big question that I have is what drives you, brother? What makes this all make sense for you?
Well, yeah. I don't – I'm just going to say – I'm going to answer that question in the only way I know how to say it, and that is that when you get – when I get a problem and I need – and I want to solve it, like, I can't let it go. Like, I'm addicted to seeing it through and seeing the result, you know, come up on my screen or come up – like, I love – Reverse engineering something that's maybe complex or too difficult or has a lot of friction and figuring out a beautiful, elegant solution to it. And I think I was... It dawned on me again. The reason I answered that question this way is because it dawned on me again here recently with all the new possibilities that AI has given us internally here at Synced Up. How much fun I was having... kind of being a kid in the sandbox again, solving difficult problems. A lot of them is with data and in the pursuit of helping landscapers know their numbers. Internally, we keep saying outcome without the expertise or like Tesla full self-driving instead of a jet cockpit with 100 dials and switches. And I've been having so much fun doing this with what AI has given us The new new abilities, new ways to solve these problems, reimagine

You've seen Weston Zimmerman everywhere. Every hardscaping event, every social feed, every "know your numbers" conversation in the landscaping and outdoor living space. But who is the man behind Synked Up? This week, we pull the mask off.
In this raw, unscripted conversation, Weston opens up about what most founders never say out loud. The addiction to solving problems, the year they almost couldn't make payroll, a customer who paid for dinner because Weston didn't have the cash, and the moment his own family's future was on the line. He talks candidly about:
- Why he cut his travel from 100+ nights a year on the road down to 38, and what it cost the business to do it
- The early days of Synked Up, when a trade show sign up saved the company from running out of cash
- Working through hard seasons with his dad, and how that relationship became one of the strongest in his life
- Why mentorship isn't optional. "There's no way Synked Up exists today without mentors."
- The pressure to perform a founder "persona," and how he's learning to just be radically honest instead
- What legacy actually means to him, for his kids, his team, and the industry he serves
This isn't a numbers episode. It's a look at the real tension every entrepreneur faces, chasing a mission while protecting your family, your faith, and
