Welcome into the Jazz Notes podcast. I am Ben Anderson.
I'm Chandler Holtz.
We are recording this on Sunday, Mother's Day, because the Utah Jazz have moved into the number two overall pick in the, uh, NBA draft, coming up for the 2026 NBA draft. So, uh, this is a big move for the Utah Jazz and, uh, a major change from what we've seen historically from this team, when it has very much struggled to have any success [chuckles] in the lottery.
Yes. Uh, yeah, absolutely. Um, first time in franchise history, as you mentioned, uh, the Jazz move up. Now they have the number two pick. The Washington Wizards, of course, get the cream of the crop. They get the first selection, um, whether that be AJ Dibonsa, any of the top four guys really. I think me and you talked about live on the KSL Sports Zone, that we believe that any of, uh, the top four guys, other than Caleb Wilson most likely, is, is up for grabs with that number one overall pick, and then the Jazz, uh, sort of get whoever is left there at number two. Um, we will g- get into sort of all of these, uh, uh, top four players, um, to start, and then of course we will go into your Jazz Notes mailbag. Um, I will preface this by saying, I think that right now you are leaning Cam Boozer with the number two overall pick, and I am, uh, leaning slightly towards Darren Peterson. I don't know about you, maybe you are, are totally gung-ho on Boozer and will feel that way throughout the entire process. I will say, um, my opinion is absolutely subject to change, uh, as we sort of dive deeper into these guys, and I think, uh, maybe the biggest thing will be, um, sort of looking at, uh, their potential fit. 'Cause of course you go with best player available, um, but I also think as the Jazz look to be a playoff contention team next year, the fit in year one doesn't necessarily matter that much, but it will, uh, start to matter more and more as the Jazz sort of go down this road of playoff contention.
And while we are recording this, uh, so you can listen to it on our podcast later, we are trying to do a Twitter Spaces live right now. Um, I think you can hear us from the KSL Sports account, um, and I hope we are, uh, there live as well. Chandler, I think I've got you muted. I don't know how to fix it. But we are-
[laughs]
... uh, going to record this, and hopefully you can hear it over the, uh, KSL Sports, um, Twitter page by itself as it is. So, uh, appreciate everybody who is, uh, tuning in and listening to this. We're gonna get to your mailbag questions here, and, uh, see if you can unmute yourself on your phone, if that's something you have the ability to do.
I can.
Okay,
