[upbeat music] Welcome into the Jazz Notes podcast. I'm Ben Anderson.
I'm Chandler Holt.
We are recording this on April 27th. We are less than two weeks from the lottery.
Wow.
Am I wrong? This felt like it took longer last year. It felt like it took a long time for me to get to the lottery, and, like, now I get that maybe it was a little bit different for the Jazz because-
Yeah
... they had the worst record in the NBA, and the season was pretty dreadful. I didn't think this season actually was as dreadful, now the l- the late season, everything was crazy. But I, I-- this is feeling like it's going faster f- to me than it did last season, but maybe I'm totally off. I'm curious what Jazz fans would say.
And also, the Jazz had multiple picks last year, so I feel like there's a lot more work, a lot more players to look at.
Yes, there was.
So maybe that contributed to it.
I do like that.
[laughs]
I do like that we have done... We're gonna do our third and fourth players that we're talking about today.
Mm-hmm.
We did, uh, last week we did AJ DiBona and Brayden Buries.
Yes.
Um, we're gonna do Darren Peterson, Keaton Walker coming up here momentarily. Uh, and then t- next week we will do, uh, Boozer and Caleb Wilson from North Carolina, and then we will have a show probably Sunday night.
Yes.
Uh, a week from Sunday, not this Sunday, but a week from Sunday because that's when the actual lottery's gonna happen. I suspect I might be live on the radio, and Chandler, I suspect you'd be a part of that.
Yeah.
I honestly haven't talked to anyone about it yet. Um, and we can react live. Regardless, we will do a podcast Sunday night.
Yes.
Whoever's on the radio, we will do a reaction podcast on Sunday night, and break down what we saw, what the Ja- where the Jazz are gonna be drafting, and then what it means for you. And then we probably won't do a podcast that Monday. Sunday will just serve as a, as the Monday podcast.
The week.
That's a week from, or two weeks from yesterday.
Yes, and I believe that'll be a live Jazz Notes podcast as well, so you can catch it live, and then also it'll be posted on all platforms and likely YouTube after.
Yeah, I think that's the right decision to make.
Yeah.
So there will be plenty of coverage for you on that Sunday when the lottery goes down, which usually is around, like, 5:00, 5:30.
Yeah.
Um, all right. Quick news and notes for the week. Let's start with a, something totally off, and let me see if I can actually find this story quickly. Former Jazz man Joe Ingles sounds like he's, uh, leaving the NBA. He's gonna be joining Melbourne United beginning next season. Uh, apparently he's been negotiating during the playoffs [laughs]
[laughs]
But he never plays anyways-
Yeah
...
