Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Telling My Story, the podcast where we uncover the journeys behind remarkable people and explore their experiences, ideas, and lessons that can inspire personal and professional growth. I'm your host, Henry Chiwetelu, and today's conversation is about something that affects all of us. Are we actually growing or have we simply become comfortable with where we are? It's easy to become successful in one area of life while quietly failing or falling behind in another. We can build businesses while neglecting our health, chase financial success while damaging our relationship, or stay busy without actually becoming better. Today's guest has spent years exploring these very subjects. I'm joined by Chris Anderson, founder of Elevate Media Group and host of The Upgraded Man, a podcast focused on helping men refuse complacency and grow across five important areas, relationship, finance, fitness, mindset, and living fully. Chris brings the perspective of an entrepreneur, husband, father, media founder, and interviewer who has spent hundreds of hours having honest conversation about what it takes to become a better version of yourself. Today, we will discuss complacency, personal growth, entrepreneurship, relationship, fatherhood, mindset, and what it really means to upgrade your life. Chris, welcome to Tell My Story. It's a pleasure to have you here with us today.

Alright Chris, let's start with your journey. What experience led you to become so passionate about helping men refuse complacency?

Yeah, you know, it's funny because I never necessarily thought I'd be in this position. Went to school for athletic training, so I wanted to help athletes stay healthy, be healthy, get back to being healthy. And so I guess I always had a piece of wanting that, you know, how can we be the best we can physically, you know, and with our health and fitness and things like that. And as I did that, I started to lean into kind of motivating those I worked with through emails and trying to send out motivational emails on Mondays. Um, so I guess I always had a piece of it cause we kind of do that with the upgraded man now. And then I really just continued to dive in and I've always had conversations about how can we improve ourselves and encouraging men to, to be their best and, what does that look like and how can we do that and how can I do that in my own life and so you know I'm kind of like the test subject for it all and and so I just started to really dive even more into personal professional development entrepreneurship and And what really matters, you know, in life and how can we be better so we can, you know, raise great children and leave a better impact on the world and just build a legacy that outlives us. So it just kind of has always been something kind of within my heart and it just kind of led me to where I am now.

Wow, that's really very insightful. So was there a particular moment that changed your perspective on personal

growth? There's a moment where I just had to realize it's a choice, right? It's going to be hard either way to improve and to do the best

Episode notes

What happens when success on the outside doesn't match the person you're becoming on the inside?

In this episode of Telling My Story, I sit down with Chris Anderson, founder of Elevate Media Group and host of The Upgraded Man, to explore what it really means to become a better man and live a more intentional life.

Chris believes that complacency is one of the biggest obstacles to personal growth. Through his experience as an entrepreneur, husband, father, media founder, and podcast host, he has spent years exploring the challenges men face in relationships, finances, fitness, mindset, and living fully.

We discuss the five pillars of an upgraded life, why being busy doesn't necessarily mean you're growing, and how entrepreneurs can pursue success without sacrificing their health, relationships, family, or identity.

Chris also shares honest insights about entrepreneurship, fatherhood, marriage, personal responsibility, podcasting, and the small daily decisions that ultimately shape who we become.

Whether you're a man looking to improve your life, an entrepreneur trying to find balance, a father navigating responsibility, or simply someone who refuses to settle for less, this conversation offers practical lessons and honest perspectives on growth.
