Welcome to the latest edition of John Solomon Reports, the podcast from Just the News. An extremely busy, huge, humongous day in news, and it's not even over yet. Let me start with a story I just broke a little bit ago. New transcripts of interviews with the House Judiciary Committee released today, provided to Just the News, show that one of the agents who worked in the Jack Smith prosecution case against Donald Trump, the January 6th case, the case known as Arctic Frost, said that he didn't know that the phone records he was asked to subpoena belong to Congress. And if he had did, he specifically subpoenaed Jim Jordan's phone records, the chairman of the committee, he would have raised concerns with his supervisors. Why? Because agents know that the executive branch just can't go and get stuff from Congress. There's a separation of powers and a speech and debate clause in the Constitution. And he told a story. as to how sensitive he was. He said he remembered earlier in the Smith probe when he and a colleague were asked maybe to go pick up a phone from Scott Perry, and he checked back with his inspector general supervisor. So this was an agent who worked for the Office of Inspector General for the Justice Department who got detailed to the Jack Smith case. His name is Brian Burnett. He retired in late 24. He said when he checked with his OIG agent, The boss
