Welcome back to Episode 3 of AGI and the Humans in the Loop, or AI and the Humans in the Loop, where we're talking about the new workforce and the new way of working. And I have a guest today who I've known for quite some time. He is definitely a vibe-coder extraordinaire, Harrison Painter. Harrison, why don't you tell everybody a little bit about yourself, and then we'll get into what this is starting to look like.

Yeah, so founder of Launch Ready AI. We focus on training, consulting, and actually we have a lab where we build products that we ship. So we kind of walk the walk, talk the talk, and put things out there. Been in this space for a little over four years now. Well, really since ChachiBT was released in what, 2020, November of 2022? November of 2022. That's crazy, right? So it's already been four years. And I know we're going to talk about this and just the evolution of where we were four years ago. And not everybody else, I'm saying where you and I were four years ago and where we are now. And I think it would shock people who are just watching the news or listening to friends or, you know, not fully in the know of how much smarter this can really make somebody.

Yeah, man, I would totally agree. And I would say there have been some, some monumental times along the way. You know, I think, uh, I think the, the chat GBT image generator that made the studio Ghibli really kind of brought a chat GBT into everybody's life for a minute. I think that nano bananas launch image generation again was a really big deal. Um, But it was really around November of last year when Claude Opus 4.5,

came out.

And that was when things changed for me.

I mean, I played with things like lovable. This term, vibe coding, I think Carpappi is the one that phrased that about six months prior to that. And I think I spent one day inside Replit for like... an exorbitant number of hours and went, okay, this is like fun, but there's no way that I could ever monetize this or I can't get this good enough to make this worth my time. And then all of a sudden November of last year hits and now it's a whole, it's a brave new world.

HP

It is. I was deep into the N8N world, which I believe was very similar to Replit, right? And like you, I was like, I get it, but this is for people smarter than me. Like, you really need to understand the workflow, how these things connect. And I'm trying to learn it, but it's just, it felt above my comprehension level for tech at that point. But if you remember, too, it was going into the holiday season of 2025, everything was, agentic AI was being talked about. Yep. But it wasn't really a reality yet, at least not for the general people like us, right? And then all of a sudden we come out of the holidays in January and bam, agentics here. Now we don't need N8N anymore. Now we don't need Replit anymore. We can actually start using these agents and have it do things on our behalf. And what a crazy concept that was.

JP

Yeah, and I missed one, which was DeepSeek about a year before that, right, was the first time we saw a reasoning model that was not real expensive and that was really, really good. And then I think what you're talking about in

2Episode notes

What happens when people without a software background learn to direct AI agents, build working systems, and solve real business problems? Harrison Painter says they become AI orchestrators, and their value is about to climb.

Harrison and Jason compare what they could do eight months ago with what they can build today. They get honest about the fear of terminals, the limits of vibe-coded software, why developers still matter, and how people can get paid while learning. The conversation also moves into education, where AI can help students keep asking questions, explore alternate histories, and learn at their own pace.
