In order to start this program on a level of absolute honesty, and all of you who are regular radio listeners know how important absolute honesty is to talk show hosts. In this particular case, I have to tell you that with the years and years, and I'm talking about now something like 24, 25 years, of The God Show being on here, we mostly provide you with nationally known guests, internationally known guests, and a few local folks that have just lived interesting lives that we wanted to share with you but most of the time it's the author of the week in this case no in absolute honesty it's also one of my longest friends in broadcasting Sports guy, Brad Sessmatt, and I hope you don't mind if your official title is, at least on this program, sports guy.

You know, the late, great Cotton Fitzsimmons said to me once... Remind

everybody now because we're talking to an international audience.

International audience. Okay, so Cotton Fitzsimmons was the... Head honcho for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. And Cotton would come on to replace the owner, Jerry Colangelo, for a weekly segment, much like Pat and I are doing here. And I would ask Cotton off the air, how do you want me to refer to you by title? And he had this big accent about him. He said, big guy, you just call me senior executive vice president of nothing or everything. Don't matter to me a title. So Pat, on my LinkedIn, on all my social, I'm the senior executive vice president of nothing or everything for Sports360, and I've been that way for 15 years. What

I love is the idea of a family, if they are regular listeners to The God Show, a family in Adelaide, Australia, writing down the phrase head honcho. and figuring out what language that is coming out of the community of Greater Phoenix, Arizona. Listen, later we're gonna get into a whole bunch of things about Brad Sessmatt, which actually brings him to this microphone and to your radio, wherever you're listening. But I don't want to even start this thing without doing a little sports. Do a review now on what you think, Brad, that the impact was on the United States of having the World Cup here.

Well, I think if you look at it, Pat, all sports leagues are trying to become global. The NFL wants to tell everybody that they're the greatest. And in the United States, there certainly can be no dispute on that in terms of ratings. But I do believe that what the World Cup showed is you could go play at stadiums in another country and not have a naming rights attached to them. I don't get paid any money by saying that they... football team plays over at said insurance company. So why should the media be out there saying, you're looking live at said so-called field with a sponsor name on it? The World Cup had no sponsorships. I love that. I love that the passion and the enthusiasm went way past just the hardcore soccer fan. I love the fact that the Americans held their own for once, because usually, Pat, they're on the sidelines. As close as they're going to get to watching a championship match in the World Cup is them buying a ticket, because it never happens for
