[speaking foreign language] Beloved brothers and sisters, youngsters and elders, esteemed and honorable guests of the house of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, [speaking foreign language] In order for any human being to attain a level of prosperity, a level of salvation, then they have to adopt taqwa. They have to inculcate within their lives God-consciousness. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala mentions this in the Quran where He says, "Ya bani Adam," not just an address to the believers, but rather to all of mankind. "Ya bani Adam," oh, mankind, "Imma ya'tiyanakum rusulun minkum-- imma ya'tiyanakum minkum rusulun, ya-- uh, imma ya'tiyanakum rusulun minkum yaqusuna 'alaikum ayati." If any messengers from amongst yourselves come to you, "yaqusuna 'alaikum ayati", and they relate to you my verses, then, "faman ittaqa wa aslaha fala khawfun 'alayhim wa la hum yahzanun." Allah says, "Oh, mankind, if any messengers come to you and they share my verses with you, then understand whoever adopts God-consciousness, they live a life fearing Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and also doing their best to attain His pleasure, wa aslaha, and they rectify their actions, they mend their ways, then fala khawfun 'alayhim wa la hum yahzanun. They will have nothing to fear, and they will ne-- they will not grieve. All benefit, all goodness comes from taqwa. Elsewhere in the Quran, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, "Walaw anna ahla al-qura amanu wa ittaqaw", if only the people of the villages, if only they believed in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and they adopted God-consciousness, they adopted taqwa, then, "lafatahna 'alayhim barakatun mina as-sama'i wal-ard", we would have opened up to them all of the blessings of the heaven and the earth. For what? For iman and taqwa. Jannah, paradise, is for the muttaqeen. Allah Subha-- Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, "Inna lil-muttaqina 'inda rabbihim jannatin na'eem". Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, "Inna al-muttaqina fi jannatin wa nahar. Fi maq'adi sidqin 'inda malikin muqtarin." Talking about how paradise is for the righteous. It's for the God-conscious. It's for the muttaqun. "Inna al-muttaqina fi maqamin amin. Fi jannatin wa 'uyun." And so on and so forth. There's so many ayat of the Quran where Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala highlights taqwa and specifically says that taqwa is for-- uh, that Jannah is for the muttaqun. Jannah is for the people of taqwa. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, "Inna lil-muttaqina mafaza". All success, salvation is for the muttaqun. And it's very interesting when we're studying the Quran and we come across those ayat that talk about the muttaqun. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala shares various different characteristics. "Wa sari'u ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wa jannatin 'arduhas-samawati wal-ardu u'iddat lil-muttaqeen." Who are the muttaqeen? "Alladhina yunfiquna fi sirrai wa darrai wal-kazimin al-ghayza wal-'afina 'ani annas. Wallahu yuhibbu al-muhsineen." And so on and so forth. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala talks about different characteristics about the muttaqun. And when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala instructs us to adopt taqwa, when Allah addresses you and I directly and He says, "Ya ayyuha alladhina amanu ittaqullah..." When He
