Friday – Sirah Conf. : Welcoming Remarks, and Opening Qira’ah | Sep 11 2026

For children between the ages of 11 and 16, we have parallel programs which are taking place in the seminary building, which is just adjacent to the masjid, across the courtyard. So if you have children of those ages from 11 to 16, feel free to take them to the parallel programs that are taking place over there. Number four is we have our bookstore downstairs, which is open. And we also have a book stall, which is set up in the courtyard. InshaAllah, a number of beautiful titles, which are available for purchase. So kindly check that out as well. InshaAllah, this time we can perform our sunnah salah, and then we'll continue with the program. Jazakumullahu khairan. Those of us who have completed our salah, if we can kindly move forward, please be mindful of those still performing their salah. InshaAllah I request all the brothers to kindly move forward. As Allah Ta'ala mentions, وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِرِينَ We have sent down this Qur'an which is a source of cure. as well as a source of mercy for those who believe. So in any of our gatherings, we should always try and commence with the recitation of the Quran. Alhamdulillah, we have with us Qari Muhammad Hamid, who was raised here in the Chicagoland area. After completing his Hifth, he began his early education here at Darussalam. Later, he traveled all the way to South Africa when he graduated from Darul Ulum, Azadville. After returning to the States, He taught here at Darussalam for a number of years, and currently he is serving as an assistant imam at IFS. Without further ado, can you request Qadir Salam to bless us with the opening recitation. Jazakumullahu khairan. Once again, we just request to all the brothers, we can kindly move closer. The closer we come, the more benefit we will attain. Also, as the Qur'an is being recited, one of the etiquettes is, وَإِذَا قُرِيَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنصِتُوا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ We should pay close attention to the recitation of the Qur'an, and we should remain silent.
