of everyone that through the barakah of these gatherings Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bring khayr and afiyah and barakah to all the Muslims wherever they may be I was just discussing right now too in one narration it comes niyatul mu'min khayrum min amalihi that the intention of the believer is better than his action This hadith is not there to undermine action. It's not saying you don't need to work, just make niyyah. It's showing the greatness of the niyyah. Actions, no matter how many we do, will always be limited. For example, if we're speaking, how long can a person speak for? If we have a conference, how long are we gonna have a conference for? Right? So, amal will always be limited. Even if a person wants to pray salah, for example, dhuhr time comes in. If you, let's say, want to pray a long dhuhr salah, how long are you gonna pray for? Hypothetically speaking, if a person were to perform a lengthy dhuhr salah, he could only perform from the time that the time begins till the time it ends. You can't pray dhuhr afterwards. You can't extend your dhuhr. So your amal, your action will naturally always be limited. We as human beings can only do limited sets of actions. But the niyyah that the person has, the intention that the person has, that can have profound effects, even larger and greater than the amal that he's doing. So our sitting here, we should make this niyyah, Allah Ta'ala make it a source. As I said, we start with ourselves, that Allah Ta'ala make it a source for our own rectification, our own change in our own lives. Allah Ta'ala makes it a means of developing love for him, love for Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. And then likewise, it extends the barakat of these gatherings, extend even beyond, not just to our communities only, but in fact to the whole world, inshaAllah. And it's not difficult because Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is the one that's Qadir Mutlaq. Second thing is that when we do look at gatherings like this and we do feel that, okay, maybe there aren't that many people right now. We hope inshallah our gatherings and the lectures that are to come that we have more and more people. But keep in mind that sometimes deeds are not judged by quantity. They're judged by quality. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran, كَمْ مِنْ فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ How often does it happen that a small group of people are able to overwhelm large groups of people? So sometimes we look at gatherings and we... Sometimes what happens is an error that we'll look at one program and another program and say, oh, this program had only 20 attendees and that program had thousands of attendees. Sometimes it's not the quantity. It's not the quantity that brings the value to something. It's the quality that brings... the value in it. A person prays two rakats nafil salah with sincerity versus a person who prays a hundred rakats but without any attention, any focus, any sincerity. It may look like he's spending hours praying 100 rakats, but actually the person that prayed 2 rakat salah, مُخْلِصًا لِلَّهِ Sincerely for the sake of Allah, that is much much more weightier in the scales on the day of judgment
