24 turns · 1 hr 7 minWe begin once again by thanking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that he has allowed us to gather in his house on this weekend. On Labor Day weekend, people are doing all sorts of things. Some people are vacationing, some people are engaging in wrong acts, some people are just wasting time, which is also a different form of a wrong act. But nonetheless, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allowed us to gather in His house. So this is something that we should do shukr, that we should thank Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for. And alhamdulillah, before we begin, inshallah Mufti Azeem will be joining us soon. This weekend, we have our Sira conference. And the title of the seerah conference is Mubashirat, the glad tidings that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam granted to different groups of people. People who repented, people who had patience and what not. As Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala mentioned in the Quran, إِنَّ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا That we have sent Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as a bearer of good glad tidings as well as warnings. So the mission of Nabi ﷺ was to give glad tidings to people as well as warn them. And that's why our deen is a deen of i'tidal. It's a religion of complete balance and moderation. وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا In this beautiful manner we have created you a nation of moderation. So this is what our deen is about. It's about teaching moderation. And inshaAllah, this weekend we'll be covering the more positive side of things. We're living in a day and age where we hear all these fitan, the end of time, tajjal and whatnot. So sometimes people become hopeless, they become sad, they say, is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Of course there is some light. We just have to go back to the hadith of Nabi ﷺ so we can understand what glad tidings awaiting us. So inshaAllah we should all make a niyyah that we attend ourselves and more importantly, or equally as important, we invite our friends and family. Right? Common question when a person starts becoming practicing, when he starts coming to the masjid, when he joins the tanweer program is, my friend, my family, my close people that I was connected with before I came to Islam, I came closer to Islam, they're not as connected anymore and I want them to get connected. So the easiest or the best way perhaps is a person brings them into gatherings where you meet like-minded people. What environment can do for a person, thousands of words will not be able to do for that person. Sometimes when people become religious themselves and they go back to their friends, they sound very preachy. The person says, okay man, every time I meet this person, he's always talking to me about something, always trying to get me to do something. But the easiest way is, you just give one da'wah, and you connect them to the environment, and you let themselves naturally fall in love with good things. You let themselves naturally fall in love with the deen of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. So this is a very important reminder, inshaAllah, that Sira conference is only a few days away. On this weekend, there's programs for women, there's programs for men, there's programs for everybody,
