Where driving your own car will be seen as irresponsible as smoking cigarettes is today.

GF
Gary Fox0:05

That's a great statement.

ES
Emmet Savage0:06

That's AI, baby. They would've laughed at you. 100 out of 100 people would've said no.

GF
Gary Fox0:11

That hustle thing, [beep] hate it.

ES
Emmet Savage0:13

Everything was a lie. It was just utterly reprehensible how the former CEO behaved. What are the attributes of the best investors you have on your books? And he said, "The dead and the divorced." A week later, we'd done the entire revenue of the 12 years in about 12 days.

GF
Gary Fox0:32

Emmet, welcome back to the pod.

ES
Emmet Savage0:33

Delighted to be here, Gary. Thanks for having me again.

GF
Gary Fox0:36

I love being able to say that.

ES
Emmet Savage0:36

[laughs]

GF
Gary Fox0:37

Welcome back. We're going back in time. We were chatting about it there. We chatted during COVID.

ES
Emmet Savage0:42

Mm-hmm, we did.

GF
Gary Fox0:42

Our first pod together was remote.

ES
Emmet Savage0:44

We appeared on each other's podcast, uh, lonely Joes sitting at home looking out the window at a virus. [laughs]

GF
Gary Fox0:49

Just, I'm just happy to talk to somebody.

ES
Emmet Savage0:51

Yeah. [laughs]

GF
Gary Fox0:51

I'm just happy for the company.

ES
Emmet Savage0:52

That's fine.

GF
Gary Fox0:53

Welcome. What do you do?

ES
Emmet Savage0:55

I am the founder, co-founder of MyWallSt, a business with a mission to get the world investing successfully.

GF
Gary Fox1:02

Successfully being the key.

ES
Emmet Savage1:03

Oh, yeah.

GF
Gary Fox1:04

So, what is your formula, right? You've been in business quite a while now. What is your personal... So I'm gonna ask you two different formula questions, 'cause it's all about helping people find their own formula for success-

ES
Emmet Savage1:15

Mm

GF
Gary Fox1:15

... you know, to build themselves as a better founder. You know, what's your formula for success personally, you know, in business, and then what's your formula for success in investing?

ES
Emmet Savage1:24

In business for me, now I know you can find a business opportunity where there's a great big economic opportunity and you go for it, and then there's another type of business where you're passionate about that actual pursuit. And I believe if you're fortunate enough to have a business opportunity that clicks with your passion, every single day you'll wake up renewed. So for 12 years, when I wake up in the morning, I wake up at an excitement and a willingness to make this thing work, and that has never gone away. It's like I refresh every single night. Now, that's with the exception of the many nights where you stare at the ceiling, 'cause there are a lot of those as well. So one of the things, which is a very obvious thing to say, is to have a determination to succeed, which is not genuinely something you can just say, "Okay, I, I have decided I'm gonna be determined." Some of it comes from within. It comes from your nurture, your nature, your, your makeup. So for me, part of the recipe for success is absolute unwillingness to stop until it succeeds. Unwillingness. I will die on the hill to make this business the most successful of its type from this country, and we're getting there.

GF
Gary Fox2:32

Damn. Passion plus determination equals success. Nice.

ES
Emmet Savage2:37

There you go.

GF
Gary Fox2:37

Strong start.

ES
Emmet Savage2:38

Yeah.

GF
Gary Fox2:38

Strong start. [laughs]

ES
Emmet Savage2:39

Um, and so what was the other one? How, what makes me successful investor?

GF
Gary Fox2:41

For investing, is there something... Is, is, does that carry over to investing? So what, like what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to build the biggest data set in the world of successful founders, because there's this kind of myth of like, there's
