Hello, everyone. This is OmniTalk Retail. I'm Chris Walton, and you are listening to the Retail Daily Minute, your quickest, fastest breakdown of all the day's top retail news. Today's podcast is brought to you once again with the help and support of R&S Logistics. Are you looking for a fulfillment and distribution partner? That's just right. Well, RNS Logistics is small enough to provide custom solutions and that personal touch, while also still boasting 2 million square feet across 10 locations in the Southeast. With technology that can scale your growing e-commerce operations, visit rswarehousingsolutions.com and get your quote today. And I'm also pleased to introduce Zenline AI because you have likely heard about AI agents a thousand times this year. They're also probably wondering what they can do for you as a retailer. Visit tryzenline.ai to book a call and see how agents can bring you more margin. This morning, we've got news on Sephora's debut on TikTok Shop and a CEO transition at Sprouts Farmers Market. But we begin today with Anthropic's new push into agentic commerce. Anthropic launched a blueprint today for building AI shopping agents on Claude, and the company is touting some eye-catching numbers. For example, retailers running shopping agents on cloud have apparently seen carts up to 35% larger and shoppers 60% more likely to complete a purchase. Now these stats come straight from Anthropix's own blog posts announcing this, so treat them as a vendor claim rather than as an independently verified benchmark. But with that said, the Blueprint itself is a real thing you can go and look at. It's a GitHub repository with reference implementations of both a shopping agent, which lives inside a retailer's app or site, and can search a catalog, build a cart, and hand off to checkout, and as well, a merchant agent, which is more of a back office tool for flagging inventory problems and recommending pricing and promotions. Enterprise names like Shopify and Priceland are cited as existing users, and partners like Accenture, MasterCard, and Visa are apparently also along for the ride. The other big story here is the timing of the announcement. This is landing right before holiday season planning kicks into gear, and it's Anthropic drawing a much brighter line around agentic commerce as a category, going head to head with the other major AI labs on who owns the checkout layer of the AI shopping experience. It will be worth watching who actually ships something real with this concept versus who just puts a logo on Anthropic's case study page as we get through the holiday season.
