I’m a strong believer in big or small we love them all but I fancied a real winter challenge so I headed on up to orchid for a few days just for the possibility of catching one of there stunning fish , unfortunately I had no luck but I’ll be definitely coming back again ( and again ect) Dave and the Bailiffs were nothing but gentlemen, always checking in ect , the work that has gone into this fishery is unbelievable 👏🏻 , clean tidy mud free swims ( perfect for my winter session) and better still they offer a buggy run which is a result! Keep up the good work gents

I returned to the lake after a long time away. I was shocked that they're now charging £10 (return) to take your gear to your peg. What gets me the most is they drive you on a road that could fit a tank down. No doubt they'll say it's for insurance purposes or something like that but it's purely a money making decision. There's no reason you can't drive your own car, drop your gear off and park up. Particles are banned unless you buy there's (of course) this usually wouldn't bother me but it's taking liberties when they make you buy there's at a massively inflated price. £15 for 5kg of house…

Just spent a long weekend on the club lake, having a social. Overall a lovely lake, quality stalking spots, brilliant facilities, gas BBQ (but bring your own gas), some lovely fish in there, with some quality originals, including some unbelievable, dark, large specimen Tench. Kev showed us around and couldn’t have been more helpful, showed us some great spots in the edge, which produced some good fish. All in all, quality social water and run by people that are helpful and sound. Definitely will be back when next up Oxford way. 10/10 cheers 🍻

What a transformation this lake has gone through! From a previous bad experience under prior ownership I said I’d never return it so glad I did. The lake has been totally transformed for the better, lovely clean pegs and the lake had never looked better. The owner and management team are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble for them and always happy to help. Yes it can be weedy throughout the summer but the carp love it, and are thriving in the current environment, a bit of time spent looking for spots and altering rigs to present is all that’s needed and boats are available for the…

Thankyou orchid for a great stay. The owner Dave is a true old skool gentleman, very passionate about his lake, his fish and also anglers, which is rare to find these days. Very welcoming which I can’t thank you enough. Kev the fishery manager is a legend helped me out with his great advice, also his enthusiasm, great banter and also good looks 😂 you 2 legends really made my stay enjoyable. Orchid will always have a little place in my fishing memory as a top water with top people behind the scenes.there is Something about orchid that draws you in and makes you want to come back. I can’t thank…

It’s been a while since I last visited this iconic lake, and wow — what a difference! Small tackle shop to cater for what you might have forgot. Most swims have been upgraded to a high standard. Alimo and L-Shape now have solar-powered electric, lighting, and even heating for the colder months, which is a great touch. The trees have been neatly trimmed, and all the foliage is really well maintained. You can see the team take real pride in the place — they’re now turning their attention to managing the weed, too. It's still one of my favourite venues. Peaceful, well-kept, and clearly loved.…
