ZERO STARS! We had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience with Yoks Car Rental during our yoga retreat in Ghana in October 2025. The driver assigned to our group behaved in a way that made us feel unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. Less than an hour into our journey from Accra to the Western Region, he stopped to pick up an unidentified woman without informing us or seeking consent. Extremely Unsafe and Unprofessional Experience – Do Not Recommend Our group of women traveled from the UK and booked this car company in advance for a confirmed journey from Accra to Busua. Unfortunately, the experience was alarming, unsafe, and completely unprofessional. Without explanation or consent, the driver picked up a strange woman and allowed her onto the coach. He did not introduce her, explain who she was, or state her purpose for joining the journey. This immediately made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Our driver was rude, disrespectful, and had an issue with women. He threatened to leave us in the middle of nowhere because the journey was longer than he expected and he took a wrong turn. We told the company in advance the plan including all stops. We even brought the driver a very nice meal. If you’re a woman I would not recommend, as this was a scary experience for us all.
