  • The best place I've ever lived! Community - we didn't know a soul when we moved to Calgary from London (UK). That changed in a real hurry thanks to the Dominion Lobby (and coffee mornings). Lounge - My favourite amenity is the lounge. We've hosted a murder mystery party, had friend get togethers, fund-raisers, goodbye parties... heck, even our own wedding was here! Dominion Team - An all-star lineup who have helped us sort numerous issues, from leaky faucets, to cleaning filters to helping us transition within the building - Nico, Emmanuel, Brooke, Kayla and Pete Built-In Airbnb - Under-rated…
  • I've been a proud resident of DominionYYC in Bridgeland since September 2021, and after five years here, the thought of living anywhere else in Calgary is hard to fathom. As a single woman with my dog and cat, I've found not just a beautiful one-bedroom apartment with quality finishes and reasonable Enmax bills, but a genuine home where I feel safe, supported, and part of a real community. The amenities are great, and overall, tenants are respectful of the shared spaces. Sure, there's the odd fire alarm, but that's nothing out of the norm for a large building like this. What makes Dominion…
  • I’m a delivery guy, who has done many deliveries throughout Calgary in a wide range of condos. I had a complaint about their confusing elevator signage/labelling after doing a delivery to the 55 9a st ne location. More specifically, it was about how getting to where I came from (the lobby) wasn’t just blatantly labelled on the electronic screen. As anyone going in and out, you expect it to be as straight forward and simple as possible, aka a blatant “lobby” or “main” etc. The prompt and cordial response I received from their team in handling my complaint really exceeded my expectations. They…
  • Update March 2025: Removing a star for the pricey utilities in Dominion, specifically, the 2 bedroom units. These units have large windows in the living area that make it extremely difficult to insulate during cold snaps. The last 3-week cold snap in February left us with a hefty $316 energy bill given that heat is electric. Even the baseboard heaters would not get this unit above 16 degrees celsius. We had to preheat our oven and crack it to stay comfortable. Overall, energy bills are too high in the winter time. Our energy bills has ranged anywhere from $250-316. This should be taken into…

  • Not particularly sound/ vibration proof, so beware if you're a person who wants to relax in peace at home. I was constantly getting the vibrations from my upstairs neighbours -- heavy footsteps, workout sessions, day to day life. Can't really change the way people walk but I was even woken up sometimes at 2am, sometimes at 5am because my bed was shaking from stomping upstairs. I think they worked shifts, which I understand, but I could not even adapt as much I at I tried. Earplugs and noise canceling headphones only helped for sound, not for when my place was shaking. Otherwise, this was the…
  • Pros: - Dominion is in a convenient location and has top class amenities. - Nico/Hannah and team are super attentive and nice whenever you have a request/concern. They get back to you quickly and treat you very well. There is definitely a community aspect to this place and they are a big part of it. - The guest suits are amazing for when family is visiting. My family has been delighted with them. - I can attest that all the elevators are working. Yes, one of them didn’t work at sone point, but it was quickly fixed. - People living in the building are generally very nice and welcoming. There…
  • After having lived here for half a year I'm extremely happy my wife and I moved here. There were initially some growing pains such as the elevators breaking down, but most of them seem to have been solved. The amenities are awesome, the staff are friendly, the ctrain is close by, and there are a lot of restaurants and other businesses within a couple minutes walk. All of that is nice, but for me the most important aspect is a sense of community. People genuinely seem to enjoy being here and they spend time just talking with each other. The area around the building is also lively with the…
  • I have been living at Dominion YYC for almost a year now. Things started off pretty well, until my car got broken into in the gated underground parking that I pay a lot of extra money for. I concur with Tyler’s review— the elevators are sometimes broken for days at a time, although it’s usually just one of the two. Dominion addressed this in an email to residents talking about how there is a cupcake-store moving-in downstairs and wrote: “On a happier note, we think we may be giving you a good reason to take the stairs occasionally, on purpose.” This makes me worry for the building’s senior or…
