The hotel is located in a somewhat industrial area of Athens, but a short walk will take you to the city center.||Based on the photos, you might expect a high-standard hotel, but the reality is quite different. Upon arrival, we noticed that the air conditioning wasn’t working (it’s centrally controlled, so we couldn’t adjust the temperature ourselves), and the bathroom sink was clogged. As the days went by, more issues became apparent, suggesting that the hotel was built on a low budget—broken curtains, a loose toilet paper holder, and unreliable Wi-Fi.||That said, the handyman was very…
The owner messaged us with check-in instructions and the door password and responded to questions immediately. It is a 5–6 minute walk to the metro. The room was big enough for the four of us and our luggage, and it was very neat and tidy. No toiletries were provided. It felt like staying in your own studio apartment. The rooftop pool was closed for renovation, but the view of the Acropolis from the rooftop was amazing.
Overall decent enough place to stay however a few problems, first of all they charge extra for any cleaning of the room, which I've never heard of in any holiday accommodation I've ever stayed in. Meant we had to pay extra if we wanted any clean towels or the bins emptied. Secondly, the shower doesn't drain fast enough so the cubicle fills up with water quite quickly and overspills round the glass and floods half the bathroom floor. There was also a shard of broken glass in the kitchen area sink, other than that on arrival the room was very clean and made well. The area doesn't seem the…
Overall fine for a few nights. They made it clear that it's not a hotel so they do no cleaning at all, not even changing the bins or towels. I could not see anywhere when booking that it says this so if your staying for longer than 4 nights be prepared. Bed wasn't that comfy but did the job. The shower when used flooded the bathroom twice as it didn't drain properly. The window in the bedroom faced out onto a wall and someone's balcony which wasn't nice either, felt we had to keep the blind down during the day. The pool on our first day was filled with flies. Luckily on the second day it was…

I could put up with the surrounding buildings, I could put up with the elevator only working half the time, I can even put up with the tiny pool being freezing cold. But, the bed, oh my the bed. Concrete is softer. The worst bed we have ever slept on. 4 nights of misery on the most uncomfortable mattress ever made. Don’t get me wrong, the location to Athens Centre was a 15 minute walk. But if they offered me a stay here for free I couldn’t do it. No sleep for 4 days is just too much. It’s a shame because I would give it 3 stars if I got any sleep.
There are definitely no drug dealers around - despite what some lady said here. The Silk Athens building is located in a not-so-pretty area, but it’s actually quite well situated in terms of getting to the city center. The building itself is brand new but stands out among the rough surroundings. It’s super modern, clean, and nicely finished, with attention to detail. Very pleasant overall. A few downsides: We got a ground floor room with windows facing the street, which wasn’t ideal. On noisy nights it honestly felt like we were sleeping on the street – you could hear everything: cars,…
Clean, modern, comfotable accommodation units. Very well equiped for self catering. Rooftop pool is a heaven sent. Walking distance from the old town and all the sights. Note you are a couple of city blocks away from the nicer touristy streets but don't let that put you off. The balcony on our unit ("acropolis view") was really not great though. It's very small and the view is very far. But all in all, great accommodation in heart of Athens.
