we only were here for one night as layover. bathroom smelled horrible, there was no ventilation inside. the bedsheet and the blankets in the room were dirty. the hotel pool on 3rd floor looked incredibly nice, but it is not inviting to stay as it has only normal chairs, no beach chairs to lay down and relax. the area around the hotel and the beach were good.
We enjoyed our stay at Savoy mactan new town, staff are really friendly, except one staff in front desk named Jeremy his attitude is a bit blunt! Place is clean and comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom is too small with mirror that pretty bad, old and stained.
The hotel is okay and the room was fine, although it initially had a bad smell which housekeeping later fixed. What disappointed us was the resort/beach area they ran out of beer and even tap water wasn’t available. Service was very slow; we waited about 50 minutes for food and the drinks came much later. The beach is nice, but service really needs improvement…..!
When we arrived at the hotel, no one assisted us with our luggage. We had to bring our bags to our room ourselves. We didn’t really mind doing it, but we couldn’t help comparing the experience to other hotels that are much more hospitable when it comes to welcoming guests. Beach Access: This is not a beachfront hotel, so if you’re specifically looking for front-beach access, I wouldn’t recommend this place. They offer a shuttle service, but it runs every two hours. We missed the scheduled time, so we ended up walking about 5–10 minutes to reach the beach and pool area. We also found out that…

The hotel itself has the potential to feel like a 4-star property, but the lack of service, communication, and basic amenities made our stay feel closer to a 2-star experience. 1. Pool Unavailable for Entire Stay Upon arrival, we were informed that the pool was unavailable. We stayed for four nights and never got the chance to use it, not even once. This was especially disappointing because we specifically chose Savoy due to the pool, as we were traveling with a child. 2. Poor Communication From Staff The staff couldn’t provide clear answers about when the pool and other amenities would be…
Stayed 1 night for a wedding. Venue and beach itself were really nice. Catering was good (I assume it is in house). But the room (6031) had this smell, like unused for a long time, but also smelled like toilet water. Then i saw 2 cockroaches: one in the sink, and one near the TV (pictured). Needs better deep cleaning.
We stayed at the Savoy for 7 nights. The staff were so dedicated to ensuring our stay was delightful. The hotel is within walking distance to chemist, shopping and food outlets. The pool was refreshing and always had a life guard on duty. The food was not bad and the cocktails quenched our thirst.
I was actually at Mactan for a business trip and Savoy was what was recommended by my business partner, since I also wanted to take a break after. For those looking to mix business with a little R and R, Savoy is a great choice, the rooms were spacious, the breakfast buffet was very accommodating for people looking to eat healthy while on vacay, aside from salads, they had sauteed veggies and steamed okra as veggie choices. They also had yogurt with chia seeds as one of the choices for breakfast, and their danish, pork tocino, and orange chicken were also winners in my book. For R n R, they…
