  • It’s like a bad hotel Last night I almost choked because they shut the windows down completely and something got burnt in the microwave. I communicated this to them and they say they would not offer any help. Reception takes forever to process package so it doesn’t matter if you have prime on Amazon, it’s useless. Property management doesn’t care about the mental wellbeing of students. The rent I pay is 1566 dollars per month and I still don’t get basic needs as a PhD student. No human dignity for us graduate students here. The property is full of mosquitoes so there’s no way of enjoying…
  • I want to talk about how poorly ECGA has handled this "permenantly sealing the window" situation. First, I explained to them that windows are essential for individualized ventilation and access to natural outdoor air. Their response was simply to tell residents to “open the door” or “go outside.” What a disrespectiful way of treathing their residnets? Also, their explanations contain internal contradictions. They recently permanently sealed all the windows, explaining that this was done to “decrease humidity levels across the buildings and save energy in our community,” as well as to protect…
  • EDIT: I’ve reached out to the Austin Tenants Council (see attached), and they advised me to seek legal counsel. I will move forward with that if ECGA continues to disregard residents’ concerns. If they intend to proceed with this plan, I strongly suggest that they at least significantly reduce the rent to compensate for the inconvenience it will cause. DO NOT COME HERE. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. They’re planning to seal the windows, which means you won’t be able to open them for ventilation or fresh air at all. I’m not even sure this is legal based on what I’ve found so far, and if it turns…
  • If I could give zero stars I would. Well, in principle, the apartments are not bad, there have been numerous maintenance issues, mostly related to the poor construction of the building, which are often ignored for extended periods of time. The largest issue is the recent decision to unilaterally and permanently seal all apartment windows that they cannot be opened. This sweeping unilateral decision, which happens to violate local fire code, was brought up as a concern by residents. Concerns were brushed off and ignored, and as of today they have begun removal of the window opening mechanism…

  • A few weeks ago, residents were notified that all windows will be SEALED permanently , without any reasonable reason. The decision was very abrupt and totally unilateral. This week, they came to seal the windows. The maintenance person entered my apartment and insisted to step into my bedroom even I told them I was having an important meeting and could not open my door immediately. They kept knocking at my door loudly, which was very disturbing. The maintenance staff moved my bed during the process, but they didn’t move it to its original place after the work was done.
  • My room and the maintenance services have been excellent, but I’ve repeatedly had issues with the reception. Several packages have been misplaced or lost, and it seems that some staff members may be handling them quite carelessly. This has been very frustrating. They can be sued for this. (EDIT) They even try to seal the windows permanently. This is beyond just annoying.
  • This place isn't without issues, but I was willing to overlook several of them — until I received an email about a unilateral decision to permanently seal ALL windows. As residents paying rent, having the ability to open our windows for fresh air and comfort is a basic and reasonable expectation. I'm frustrated and genuinely dismayed by this extreme course of action, as are many residents. This significantly impacts our comfort and well-being, and it's downright unacceptable that this decision was made without resident input. Don't live here if you value basic freedoms.
  • my dishwasher broke on July 15 and it took the maintenance team around 6months to fix that. In addition, the build quality of the room is poor. the walls are thin, and there are random slits and holes here and there, especially near the door hinges (see attached photos). BTW my oven also doesn’t work - it short-curcits the fuse as soon as I turn it on. No parking near the apartment. P.S. I am not upset with the students that work at the front desk… just the management team.
